Description
The volume The History of the Hungarian Parliament 1867-1927 edited by Antal Balla - and partly written - was published for the first time in 1927 with the aim of presenting the history of the modern Hungarian Parliament and Hungarian parliamentarism based on purely historical and professional aspects. He wanted to demonstrate that the parliament of the Bethlen era was the legitimate successor of the dualistic Hungarian parliament and an integral part of the thousand-year Hungarian constitutional development. In the second volume of our book series "Memories of the Parliament", we publish Antal Balla's work, which is now rarely available, in a true-to-text form. The historian Miklós Szalai wrote an introductory study before the volume, which helps in the interpretation of the contemporary text and also presents the political background in which the work was published at the time.
