The second volume of the History of the Three Kingdoms attributed to Luo Guanzhong. Its story takes place during the tumultuous time of the fall of the Han Dynasty at the end of the Han period, covering more than a hundred years of ancient Chinese history. Our book is the second volume of the Chinese novel entitled Three Kingdoms. The entire work includes 120 chapters, of which our volume contains the second forty. It was born in the fourteenth century, making it the earliest of the four great novels of Chinese classical literature. Its author is Luo Guanzhong (Luo Kuan-chung). Its story takes place during the tumultuous time of the end of the Han period, the fall of the Han dynasty, from 169 to 280, covering more than a hundred years of ancient Chinese history. Fighting, intrigue, loyalty and betrayal - just a few headlines from a series of motifs containing much more. Lots of interesting characters and very exciting events unfold before us on the pages. The work mostly deals with real historical events, but it also contains mythical parts born of imagination. Even today, it is one of the most popular literary works in East Asia, and its influence is about as significant as, for example, Dante's Divine Comedy or Shakespeare's complete works in the West. The second volume of the first complete Hungarian translation is a monumental publication of more than eight hundred pages. It contains eighty authentic illustrations, two folding and nine additional color maps, a detailed index and notes. We also tried to give this great text a worthy form with its design: a hardboard, silver-colored linen binding, and two marker tapes make reading even more pleasant and enjoyable.
