I am listening to a CD composed of twenty-three poems, the passionate, emotionally rich recitations of an elderly lady. Clear, beautiful voice, beautiful pronunciation. Spirituality, pathos. The title is: Always only to give... A work by an unknown author, translated by Erzsébet Túrmezei. The disc contains divine poems, and then, as a conclusion, an excerpt from Attila József's Ode - in memory of her husband. And at the beginning of my own Attila József volume, these lines can be read: "...I keep all your smiles, your movements, your words, / like falling objects on the earth. / In my mind, like acids into metal, / I have etched you with my instincts, / you dear, beautiful figure, / your being fills every essence there..." Among the poets are well-known and less well-known names. Confessions about faith, Christian values. Some authors: Sándor Reményik, János Bódás, Lajos Füle, Éva Schrenk. There are those who are personally close to the poet, and there are those whose spirituality shows a kinship with his. (István Bakonyi)
